Day Two - Independence, MO

Well, Day Two has landed me in Independence, Missouri! And yes, for all you history buffs, Independence is the birthplace of our 33rd president: Harry S. Truman!!! Unfortunately, during my travels I did not get any pictures because it rained the entire day! Well, I do have one:

This is what I stared at for over an hour (and inching along at a snail's pace for five miles) as there was an accident on I-70.

Today, I got gas in Nashville, Illinois and drove past Mexico, Missouri. I saw the arch in St. Louis for about 30 seconds as I tried to navigate through multiple exits.

I am happy to say that Jackson was very good and slept most of the day. I also had a phone interview with Washington State University for a Program Coordinator position. Unfortunately, I think I gave some of the most lame answers a person can imagine. Yesterday, I went over different strengths and qualities I have to offer and then today, I could barely come up with one idea! I know God is sovereign and if this is the right job, then I will make the cut to the "in-person" interview. Still, I hate interviewing, I would rather be put to work for a day and let my actions be my proof that I would be an excellent choice.

Phone interviews are hard to do, and i don't think they should judge you on your phone interview alone, so i hope you get a second chance at the interview...

Glad you made it safely to your hotel...
